Our Projects
Exploring Our Comprehensive Oil and Gas Ventures to Date

RBE Wyoming
In Wyoming we currently have working interest in the Fuller reservoir oil unit and associated gas wells in Wyoming. We also own and operate 100% of the Spring Valley field and are looking to fund additional development drilling.

Past Project: RBE Louisiana EK#1 Well
In 2022, we successfully drilled and completed the EK1 well in Welsh Field east of Lake Charles. This was our first well in the state as a group and provided invaluable knowledge on project costing, operations, reserve production methods, waste water disposal, natural gas sales access, and future well selection criteria. The well generated significant operating cash flow until it was plugged in 2023.
Strategic Partnerships and Operations
At Ravenbear Energy, our private company structure allows us to have high flexibility with respect to the categories of opportunities we pursue for our investors and the geographic focus of oil and gas play types.
We multiply our expertise by using local drillers, operators and service companies to manage risk and enhance returns for our investors.
Oil and gas opportunities change over time based on economics, technology and upside potential. Our executives and directors have substantial experience at evaluating and executing acquisitions, operations and financial performance for our investors.

Our Operations at a Glance

Why Louisiana?
Drilling for oil and gas in Louisiana generally offers benefits related to lower operational costs, access to established refining and export infrastructure, and a more favorable regulatory environment. It is one of the most pro oil exploration States in the US. Home of multi-pay stacked reservoirs that reduce drilling risk along with nearby access to global LNG and oil markets.

Benefits of drilling in Louisiana
Favorable regulatory environment and government take:
In 2018, studies showed Louisiana’s government take (the share of revenue collected by the government through royalties and taxes) on oil investments was slightly lower than Alberta’s. Additionally, some analysts argue that aggressive federal regulations in Canada can hamper the industry’s competitiveness compared to U.S. states.
Louisiana Tax Incentives for New and Marginal Oil Wells:
Effective July 1, 2025, new oil wells will benefit from a reduced severance tax rate of 6.5% on oil production, down from the previous 12.5%. The base rates for natural gas remain unchanged and will continue to be adjusted annually.
Established infrastructure:
Louisiana has a vast and mature energy infrastructure, including major refineries and export hubs along the Gulf Coast. As a U.S. state, Louisiana has direct access to the integrated North American market and major refining centers. Home to Cameron LNG, a major liquified natural gas (LNG) terminal in Louisiana that connects global markets to LNG supplies. Cameron Parish hosts significant natural gas processing facilities and infrastructure, and its global renown comes from its role as a key hub for exporting LNG.
Diverse geology:
The state features a variety of productive geologic formations in both its northern and southern regions. This includes younger clastic (sandstone) reservoirs in the south (where we are located) and older, deeper clastic and carbonate reservoirs in the north.
Sandstone porosity is the measure of pore spaces within the rock, typically averaging 20-25% in south Louisiana. This is quite high compared to 2.4% to 5.6% for formations like the Duvernay shale in Alberta.
Water driven reservoirs:
A water drive reservoir allows for a high recovery rate without the need for an expensive electronic submersible pump.
Oil recovery from water-drive reservoirs is typically high, ranging from 20% to 60% of the original oil in place (OOIP). The specific recovery factor is influenced by several key factors, all of which our current project excels at, indicating a higher than average recovery rate.
